For 6 years straight we have one of my favorite Christmas traditions:) We can't take credit for starting this fun tradition, Matt & Sarah first invited us to go with them 6 years ago! We head to Maple Row Tree Farm and tailgate with Chili and all the fixings, then head out on the hayride to find our perfect tree! Every year brings a slightly different crowd and feel. We've had years with just the 4 of us, we've been pregnant with multiple kids, we've had babies, toddler, and now preschoolers to reign in in the parking lot and while looking for the tree. We've spent hours looking, pushed strollers, carried kids on our backs, shoulders, in our arms and sometimes dragged them through the trees to find the perfect one. Our group has grown and dwindled depending on the year, but every year three things remain the same: Us, the Gombos's and chili:) And the trees-there is always a tree to cut and bring home in the end. Our boys have grown to love this and had such a blast helping look for the tree this year. Brayden (despite crying through the tractor ride because he wanted to sit all by himself and couldn't) even had a blast trudging through the snow/mud helping to look for the perfect tree! Tucker was definitely more into being Dad's helper, and I think he would have been quite excited if Max let him carry the saw:)
The boys were definitely MOST excited to decorate the tree:) It was so cute to see them checking out all of THEIR ornaments and showing such pride in putting them on tree.
The day after we did the tree was my birthday. It was a nice mellow celebration at my parents...with some delicious tiramisu cake!!!!
